AVON, Conn. (WTNH) — Women’s professional golf is back in Connecticut for the fourth year.

After three years in Milford the Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship has a new home with The Golf Club of Avon hosting the Epson Tour event this season. 

Actress, author touts ‘playbook’ Hartford at HealthCare Women’s Championship Women’s Day

There are 144 players from around the world competing for a $250,000 in prize money and valuable points towards a season-long championship and an LPGA Tour card.

Golfers were on the course Wednesday for the pro-am and are getting ready for opening round play Thursday. The Hartford HealthCare Women’s Championship has quickly become one of the top stops on tour. 

Tournament play starts at 7 a.m. Thursday and concludes with the final round Sunday. Admission is free for children 18 and under, Avon residents, and First Tee of Connecticut children and their families.
