The World Cup 2026 finally came to a close with a new champion (Spain!), a new global superstar (little Keyne Yamal) and renewed excitement for the Women’s World Cup, taking place in 2027 in Brazil. Tons of celebrities were in attendance, whether on the field for the halftime show (Madonna! Justin Bieber! BTS! Shakira!) or in the stands — including Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Tom Cruise and Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, but many, many more posted from social media as well.
Spain’s victory this year makes this the first time that both reigning champions in the men’s and women’s divisions are from the same country. Will the Spanish women’s team maintain their title next summer? That was surely one of the conversations in the Dove suite at the World Cup on Sunday, July 19, where notable attendees including USWNT soccer stars Ali Krieger, Alyssa Thompson, and Tierna Davidson, as well as Ciara (who brought her children) and Brooke Shields, celebrated the brand’s commitment to keeping girls in sports, highlighted by their “The Game Is Ours” FIFA World Cup ad which emphasizes the joy girls find in athletics, as well as their Body Confident Sport initiative.
