The Miami Heat are primed to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference with the addition of Giannis Antetokounmpo, and some of his teammates are already looking to build chemistry with him. Davion Mitchell is one of those players, and he went all the way to Greece to get in a workout with Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo posted a video on Instagram of him and Mitchell working out, and he had a nostalgic five-word caption.
“Back where it all started 😤” Antetokounmpo said in the caption.

Not only were the two working out in Greece, but they were at the gym where Antetokounmpo started learning the game of basketball. Legendary coach Spiros Velliniatis was the person who helped Antetokounmpo become the player he is today, and it all started in the Filathlitikos Indoor Gym.
It’s good that Mitchell and Antetokounmpo are already getting accustomed, because they’re going to have to rely on each other a lot this season. With Tyler Herro gone, Mitchell will probably have the ball in his hands way more than usual, and he’ll be tasked with getting his teammates involved.
In the workout video, they’re working out pick-and-rolls, and that’s how they’ll find some of their points on the court. As much as people want to see how they’ll work on offense, it’ll be a sight to see how things look defensively. Both are very skilled on that side of the ball, and with more players on the team who are above-average defenders, they could make it hard for opposing teams on a nightly basis.
Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have already worked out together this offseason, and they’re arguably the best frontcourt in the league.
The Heat still have some moves to make to improve the roster, and they’re also waiting for a decision from LeBron James.
