Tampa, Fla – Georgia center Drew Bobo is ready and standing by for 2026. Bobo suffered a significant Lisfranc injury in his right foot against Georgia Tech last season.
It cost him the SEC Championship Game, the Sugar Bowl and spring practices. Bobo is nearing a conclusion to his rehab. In fact, Bobo is ready to go when needed.
Bobo has been doing everything in offseason workouts this summer. If Georgia had a game today, Bobo feels he could give it a go.
“I mean, if a trainer said I was good, I feel ready to play today,” Bobo said at SEC Media Days on Tuesday. “Just whatever their plan is for me is what I’m going to take… I’m really excited for fall camp. I’m just ready to get back going. They have a plan for me, wherever it’s going to be limited in my reps. But I’ve got to take some reps this summer. And I’m really excited to just get back to playing football again.”
Being away from the game made Bobo appreciate the game a bit more. He’s heading into his senior season in Athens looking to soak it all in a game at a time.
“I’m just taking it one game at a time,” Bobo told reporters. “I’m really excited for the first game and just getting out there, being in pads again and being able to play football again.”
Drew Bobo has changed a bit physically
According to Bobo’s roommate and fellow senior, Gunner Stockton, Bobo has also changed his body a good bit ahead of his senior season. That came as a surprise to even Stockton.
“The way he’s come back and the work he’s putting in right now (has been awesome),” Stockton said on Tuesday. “He’s got his body fat down. I’ve forgotten how much. I actually kind of called him out on it. I was like, ‘no way.’ He’s gotten down; his body’s in great shape. He’s doing great. I’m excited.”
Georgia will hit the field for its first practices in the first week of August. The Bulldogs will have just over a month to prepare for the season opener against Tennessee Tech in Athens. That game will kick off at 3 p.m. at Sanford Stadium.
