Genuine Parts Company (GPC) reported second-quarter results on Tuesday, with revenue topping Wall Street expectations, and reaffirmed its full-year adjusted earnings outlook.
The company posted second-quarter sales of $6.5 billion, up 6.0% year over year and above the consensus estimate of $6.43 billion. Adjusted diluted EPS of $2.15 also topped the $2.08 consensus estimate. Net income declined to $228 million, or $1.65 per diluted share, from $255 million, or $1.83 per share, reflecting restructuring and separation-related costs.
Sales growth was driven by a 3.4% increase in comparable sales, a 1.4% favorable impact from foreign exchange, and a 1.2% contribution from acquisitions.
North America automotive sales rose 3.8%, helped by comparable sales growth and acquisitions, while international automotive sales increased 8.2%, reflecting favorable foreign exchange, acquisitions, and modest comparable sales growth. Industrial sales climbed 7.1%, supported by a 6.1% increase in comparable sales.
The company reaffirmed its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance at a midpoint of $7.75 and maintained its total sales growth forecast at a midpoint of about 4.25%. It lowered its GAAP EPS outlook midpoint to $6.15 from $6.35 to reflect expected restructuring and separation-related costs, while raising its International Automotive sales growth outlook and trimming its North America Automotive forecast.
"The GPC team delivered solid second quarter results, driven by continued sales growth and disciplined execution across our businesses," Chairman and CEO Will Stengel said. "Our teams performed well despite a dynamic global environment, and we remain on track to complete our planned separation in the first quarter of 2027."
Shares of Genuine Parts (GPC) were up about 3.5% in premarket trading on Tuesday.
