Fulham Supporters’ Trust (FST) have continued to back calls for safe standing to be introduced at Craven Cottage after a number of season ticket holders were informed they will have to move seats due to persistent standing.
Fulham have sent out letters to 10 season ticket holders to inform them that they will be required to move seats ahead of next season “to reduce the level of persistent standing in the Hammersmith End”.
The Hammersmith End is considered the most vocal home stand at Craven Cottage and is situated behind the goal opposite the away end.
The letters sent to season ticket holders came following “extensive discussions” with the Sports Ground Safety Authority and Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
One supporter contacted Fulham after being informed his seat would be moved and was told that there would now be extra stewards in place of his old seat.
Despite the club’s reasoning, Fulham Supporters’ Trust believes that persistent standing will continue to be an issue until legal safe standing is introduced at Craven Cottage.
Fulham are currently the only Premier League club that does not have any licensed safe standing sections, with Crystal Palace set to introduce a safe standing section in the away end at Selhurst Park ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The FST conducted a 2025 survey in which 68.8 per cent of supporters who took part said they were in favour of safe standing.
The FST admit they “understand the challenges the uniqueness of Craven Cottage might present in implementation” but added that they would continue to push for safe standing to be introduced in one or more of the stands at Craven Cottage.
“The Fulham Supporters’ Trust support safe standing in principle. We also accept safe standing is not for everyone so there needs to be a balance to cater for all requirements,” a spokesperson for the FST told Standard Sport.
“We understand the challenges the uniqueness of Craven Cottage might present in implementation. We will continue to press the Club to prioritise finding a solution.
“It is not immediately clear what has caused the need to suddenly move 10 fans other than discussions with the Sports Ground Safety Authority and Hammersmith & Fulham Council over the level of persistent standing in the Hammersmith End.
“It is also not clear if any action is proposed to address the away section at the Putney End where there is also persistent standing. This will be on the agenda for our next meeting with the Club in August.”
