Fruit puree pouches sold at Kroger, Meijer, Target recalled

The fruit pouches are being recalled due to defective packaging, the company stated in an annoucement on the FDA's website.

Fruit puree pouches sold nationwide at Kroger, Meijer and Target are being recalled due to defective pouches that could introduce plastic into the finished puree.

PT Organics announced that it recalled Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4 oz. (113 g) pouches after its supplier recalled the defective pouches the week before, according to a company announcement posted to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) website.

"PT Organics’ inspections of finished product made with the recalled packaging confirmed the presence of a strand of a soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of a small number of pouches," the announcement stated.
