The Hale County Health Department has a series of free immunization clinics scheduled ahead of the back-to-school rush.
The clinics are set for early August. The first day of school for Plainview ISD is Aug. 12.
Clinics are scheduled for Aug. 1, Aug. 4-6 and Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Health Department, located at 202 W. Fifth St. in Plainview. Another clinic is set for Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Amigos Health Fair, which will be at 2403 Columbia St.
School vaccinations for kids entering grades kindergarten through 12th will be available. Those eligible include uninsured, underinsured or Medicaid recipients. Those who are Medicaid recipients are encouraged to take their Medicaid card. Other eligible recipients include Native Americans and Alaskan Natives, according to a news release shared by the City of Plainview.
According to Texas Department of State Health Services guidelines, vaccinations encouraged for school age children include the DTaP, Polio, HepB, Hib, PCV, MMR, Varicella, HepA and Meningococcal vaccines.
