Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner on Wednesday said she has been wondering the same thing since New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) said he is aiming to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he visits The Big Apple later this year: “Is he fast becoming… one of the main faces of Jewish hate in this entire country?”
“I think he is,” Republican strategist Luke Ball said on The Faulkner Focus.
Ball said the Democratic Party has an opportunity to wage “unequivocal war” on anti-Semitism festering in the party. But so far the party has “failed,” Ball said.
And he said Mamdani talking about his desire to arrest Netanyahu — whom he has called a “war criminal” and accused of committing a “genocide” in Gaza — isn’t helping, he added.
Ball continued:
Only 33% of Democrats support Israel, according to a Gallup poll that was taken this year. That is a slide of 14% from last year. So they are tracking in all the wrong directions. So when he says things like this he is pandering to his base, knowing full well he doesn’t have the authority, but also knowing full well he will receive backing for it. This is a slow fade for the Democrats.
It starts out with Ilhan Omar equating Israel with terrorists — and the United States — on the House floor. It then goes to Mamdani saying “globalize the intifada” and allowing him to say “go and arrest Netanyahu.” And now we have candidates out in Colorado who are winning primaries by saying that Israel deserved the attack that it had in October of that year. It is just wholeheartedly absurd to think they a making any sort of traction against anti-Semitism.
He added the Dems are fast on their way to turning its back on any “decent voter” with its anti-Israel push.
Axios reported in May physical assaults against Jews last year “reached the highest levels since 1979.” And when it came to “anti-Semitic incidents,” Axios reported, “New York City saw 860 incidents — by far the largest cluster nationally.”
Faulkner asked the question a few days after Mamdani said his administration was reviewing if it could arrest Netanyahu when he is expected to visit NYC in September for the U.N. General Assembly. The socialist mayor initially vowed to arrest Netanyahu during his 2025 campaign.
President Donald Trump on Monday said Mamdani’s dream has no shot of becoming a reality, posting that Netanyahu will not be arrested “in any way, shape, or form” when he comes to the U.S.
CNN senior legal analyst Elie Honig ripped Mamdani’s plan a day later, calling it“utterly ridiculous.” Honig said Mamdani has no legal authority to arrest Netanyahu and shouldn’t waste his time even thinking about it.
