Former Oklahoma star Jaxon Willits has signed his contract with the Los Angeles Angels, according to MLB.com’s Jim Callis. He was selected in the fifth round of the MLB Draft.

Willits signed for $650,000, which is up from the slot value of $526,600 as the 141st overall pick. It’s the latest milestone for the former OU infielder, who was the College World Series Most Outstanding Player before declaring for the draft.

Willits helped propel Oklahoma to a national championship as part of an impressive junior season in Norman. He had a .500 batting average, a home run, seven RBI and an .808 slugging percentage during the CWS, and he had five multi-hit games across six appearances in Omaha.

On the whole, Willits hit .313 with seven home runs and 55 RBI during the 2026 season. It was a strong follow-up to a breakout 2025 season when he had a .256 batting average with eight home runs and 43 runs batted in as a sophomore.
