Doomsday is almost here.
Marvel Studios has dropped the first full trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday," the highly anticipated sequel that brings back former Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. in a shocking new role: the villain Doctor Doom.
The jam-packed trailer, released on July 20, features our first glimpse at Downey's Doom, who faces off against Chris Hemsworth's Thor on a battlefield but seems undeterred as he stops Thor in his tracks. Downey's voice as Doom is also seemingly revealed at the beginning of the trailer.

"Something's coming," says a voice that appears to be Doom's, with Downey speaking in a thick accent that makes him sound nothing like Tony Stark. "Something we may not be able to deter. Before this day is done, we shall be faced with an unthinkable decision."
Much of the trailer centers on Chris Hemsworth's Thor, who warns his fellow superheros about the threat that Doom poses. The footage builds up to the moment Thor is baffled to be reunited with Chris Evans' Steve Rogers, who is wearing plain clothes. Steve retired at the end of "Avengers: Endgame," but he lifts Mjölnir to prove it's really him, calling back to a moment in "Endgame" when Steve proved himself worthy by using Thor's hammer during the final battle against Thanos.
"Hey, pal," Steve says.
The rest of the trailer is focused on how three separate groups of Marvel characters come together: The Fantastic Four, the Avengers and the X-Men. The Fantastic Four and the Avengers are shown meeting in Avengers Tower, as Thor gives them a speech about the need for unity.
Later, various Avengers are shown facing off against the X-Men, indicating these groups of characters likely begin the movie as foes before coming together against Doom. Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) spars with Gambit (Channing Tatum), while Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), leader of the New Avengers, faces off against Mystique (Rebecca Romijn).
Other quick, but notable, moments shown in the footage includes a look at the return of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and an emotional scene between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and his daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton).
Downey's Doom notably keeps his mask on throughout the footage. It's still unclear whether his face will ever be shown in the movie or whether there will be any connection between Doom and Downey's Tony Stark.
The new glimpse at the film comes after Marvel in December attached four separate teasers for "Doomsday" to screenings of "Avatar: Fire and Ash," each one centered on different characters. The first teaser revealed for the first time that Evans would return in the movie as Steve Rogers, with subsequent trailers focused on Thor, the X-Men and, finally, Shuri from "Black Panther" and the Fantastic Four.
"Avengers: Doomsday" features a star-studded cast that combines the stars of the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe and the original "X-Men" franchise. The actors confirmed to be in the movie include Evans, Downey, Hemsworth, Rudd, Liu, Pugh, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Pedro Pascal and many more.
