Square Enix has revealed what fans will receive in the Deluxe and Collector's editions of the upcoming Final Fantasy Resonance, with in-game goodies available for those who want to purchase them.
Final Fantasy Resonance is the first entry in the series to use the HD-2D graphical style, originally pioneered by Octopath Traveler, where the 16-bit pixel aesthetic is upgraded, and sprites walk around on 3D overworlds. While the mainline games will still use full 3D visuals, there's now space for spin-offs that use the retro-inspired style.
Final Fantasy Resonance is coming to PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch & Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 22, 2026. The pre-orders for Final Fantasy Resonance are live and Square Enix have revealed what fans will get in the various versions of the game.
Final Fantasy Resonance Digital, Deluxe, and Collector's Edition Bonuses Revealed
Final Fantasy Resonance will have two Standard editions: Physical and Digital, which both cost $49.99. These only include the game, with no digital goodies or physical items, barring any that individual retailers may offer, which would be on a case-by-case basis.
The Final Fantasy Resonance Digital Deluxe Edition costs $59.99, and it comes with a ton of extra content. The first is the Magitek Armor Key, which changes the rideable chocobo's appearance to that of a suit of Magitek. This is ideal for fans of Final Fantasy 6 and who want to recreate that game's iconic opening. The chocobo's appearance can be toggled in the menu.

Final Fantasy Resonance's Digital Deluxe Edition also comes with the Archwitch's Grimoire, which unlocks a Fel Meteor Limit Burst attack. Those who purchase this edition will also gain instant access to useful items, including five Phoenix Downs, three Remedies, five Mist Ethers, five Tents, five Mist Potions, and a Mastery Ring.
The Final Fantasy Resnance Collector's Edition costs $209.99, and it comes with a physical copy of the game, as well as a code to upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition, receiving all of its extra content. This edition comes with a box containing an acrylic block set, a special edition art book, a soundtrack CD album with 120 songs, and an exclusive promo card for the Final Fantasy TCG.
Those who pre-order Final Fantasy Resonance can also gain the Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack. This DLC gives access to the Magitek Airship Passkey, which makes the airship resemble the Lunar Whale from Final Fantasy 4, the Knight's Greatsword, the Chestplate of Protection, and some useful items, including a Magicite Shard, three Tents, and three Mist Potions.
Finally, there's the early purchase bonus, which grants players the Squire Kickstart Pack. This gives the player a Blessed Cuirass, which increases the Gil earned in every battle, as well as a Mist Ether.
The Final Fantasy Resonance DLC and edition bonuses have some great content for fans of the classic entries in the series, what with the Lunar Whale and the Magitek Armor, which are two of the most iconic forms of travel from the 16-bit trilogy. The fact that players can summon classic Final Fantasy characters, like Bartz and Squall, shows that Square Enix knows its audience extremely well.
Games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 proved that there is still a tremendous thirst for the classic style of turn-based JRPG, and it's great to see Square Enix returning to its roots. Hopefully, more classic Square Enix JRPGs will be getting the HD-2D treatment in the future.
