How to Make Oranges into Jack's Lanterns
- Slice off the tops of the oranges.
- Choose the fruits you prefer, fresh or canned.
- Dice the fruits if fresh into small pieces and place them in a bowl.
- I use a serrated-edge knife to remove the pulp or the back of a teaspoon.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the eyes and nose out, I do not make the teeth however, you can if you have large enough navel oranges.
- Note: If using a fruit like bananas or apples baste each piece of the fruit with orange or lemon juice to keep from browning.
- Fill and garnish if you wish with fresh herbs.
