On Tuesday, July 21, what would have been Robin's 75th birthday, Zak, 43, posted a photo on Instagram of his father in full Mork costume, rainbow suspenders and all. "Happy 75th Dad!" Zak wrote.
"Today I'm remembering your weirdness and your extraordinary capacity to love. I remember those wrinkles in the corners of your eyes, the kind you get from a lifetime of smiling. I remember your unending need to see this world free of human and animal suffering."

The tribute quickly filled with fans sharing just how deeply Robin had touched them, decades after some of these memories were made.
One fan wrote: "When I was 10 yrs old in 1979 living in a small Mo. town, I wrote him a fan letter(M&M was a hit show at the time of course). I came home one day and my Mom said look at the Christmas Tree. She got a postcard in the mail written to me by your Dad and set it in the tree. It had a promo shot of your Dad in those rainbow suspenders. He(or somebody in his camp) wrote back - I wish I still had that postcard"

Before movie audiences embraced him, Williams broke through as the charming alien Mork on Mork & Mindy. He went on to build an extraordinary career with films including Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Aladdin, Dead Poets Society, Jumanji, The Birdcage, Good Morning, Vietnam, Hook, Insomnia, Patch Adams and Night at the Museum.
According to ABC News, Robin died by suicide in 2014 at age 63 after suffering from Lewy body dementia, a brain disease that affected his thinking, memory, and movement control.
