Elena Rybakina is enjoying some quality time ahead of the North American hard-court swing as the Kazakh tennis star visited a winery and enjoyed some wine and delicacies.
At this past Wimbledon, the world No. 2 didn't have much success after suffering a surprise third-round loss to Elise Mertens. For the reigning Australian Open champion, it marked back-to-back disappointing Grand Slam losses after she also exited the French Open in the second round.
However, after enduring a disappointing grass season, Rybakina decided to reset and enjoy some time away from the court. And that included a trip to a Bratislava winery, which she certainly enjoyed.
"Reset," the 27-year-old captioned her Instagram post.
Rybakina was left searching for answers after a poor Wimbledon outing
Before Wimbledon, Rybakina went 1-2 across Queen's and Berlin. And after losing early at The Championships as well, the two-time Grand Slam champion was asked whether she knew what was behind the dip in her form.
"Well, if I knew, I would not be in this situation right now. As soon as it happened a couple weeks ago when I was not playing my best, honestly I don't know. I've been working well I think in the past weeks. I was getting a lot of opportunities since I was losing early in the tournaments. I definitely need to analyze and change something because it's not working," the world No. 2 responded at the time.
Rybakina returns to action in Toronto
On August 2, the WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto begins.
That's where Rybakina is expected to launch her North American hard-court swing.
In the past, Rybakina has reached the Canadian Open semifinals twice.
