Ed Harris says he was ready to leave Dutton Ranch after feeling misled about his role

Ed Harris didn't hold back when talking about his experience working on "Dutton Ranch."

The "Yellowstone" spinoff from Taylor Sheridan became an instant hit on Paramount+ when season one premiered. It felt like the perfect continuation of the Dutton saga.

Harris stars in the show as veterinarian and war veteran Everett McKinney – a man with a kind heart and violent capabilities.

Everett was one of my favorite characters in season one, but it turns out Harris didn't have a great time filming the show.

Harris revealed in an interview with Variety that his early experience on the show was so bad that he was ready to say, "Get me the f** out of here."

"Prior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do and that I was one of the four main characters. And that wasn’t really the case," Harris said in an interview with Variety.

He explained that when watching the season that he realized his character was "relatively important to the story but the doing of it did not feel that way."

The popular actor also teased an expanded role in season two with "a little bit more to do."

Well, in terms of being blunt and honest, good luck finding someone in Hollywood who gives more straightforward comments.

I think it's safe to say Harris was very disappointed with how the situation unfolded behind the scenes. The interesting thing is the fact that Everett definitely feels like a major character.

Top four?

Probably not. Key to the story? Absolutely.

Despite my assessment of the situation, it's clear that Harris didn't have that impression while filming the series.
