Down goes at least one sponsor for former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.
In a recent appearance on “The Ariel Helwani Show,” Poirier revealed that his deal with Bud Light was terminated following his controversial airport incident in June.
However, Poirier does not seem to be too bothered by it despite admitting that the voided deal cost him ” a few hundred thousand dollars.”
“They terminated my contract immediately,” Poirier told Helwani. “It’s all good. I don’t need that f---ing poison in my life. It sucks that my family loses out on the money I had left on the deal with them, which is a few hundred thousand dollars. But also, if I’m representing something, if I’m advertising something that I’m not going to be taking part in, promoting stuff. It is what it is.”
The 37-year-old Poirier was arrested last month at the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, Ga., for public intoxication.
A video of the arrest later went viral, showing the former UFC star confronting airport employees and behaving aggressively toward a police officer. Poirier was released on bail and has since tried to stay sober, and a split with Bud Light could make it easier for him to stay away from alcohol.
Poirier retired in 2025 after losing his bout against Max Holloway at UFC 318.
