Drew Bobo explains what it's like playing for his father at Georgia

Going to college often means leaving family behind on the journey to self-discovery, but that hasn't been the reality for Georgia center Drew Bobo. The offensive lineman has been in close proximity to his father, Mike, who is the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator.

Drew Bobo was asked during SEC media days what it was like to be part of the unique situation in college with his father.

"I think my dad does a really good job just kind of keeping coach and being my dad separate. Really when we're at the facility playing games, stuff like that, he doesn't treat me different than anyone else. But at the same time, when we're off the field, when we're on vacation, stuff like that, he doesn't bring football into that. So he does a really good job," Drew Bobo said.

Head coach Kirby Smart was asked a question about Mike Bobo's perception around college football, and Georgia's head coach was quick to back his offensive coordinator.

"What you guys want to write and talk about is completely up to you. I look at the production he's had, the success he had, the team success where he doesn't worry about, he worries about winning football games, and the way he coaches our players day-to-day is unmatched in this country," Smart said about Mike Bobo.

USA TODAY's Athens Banner Herald reports that Drew Bobo appears ready to hit the field after making his way back from a foot injury.
