Dinner theater is coming to Charlotte this fall.

Why it matters: Blume Studios will host the world premiere of "Clue: Murder on the Menu," a new immersive dining experience that puts a spin on the classic board game.

What to expect: Every experience will be different, much like the classic game. Each performance will feature a different combination of murder weapon, room and murderer.

  • You'll become part of the mystery, uncovering clues, chatting with suspects and ultimately solving the murder. Some people will even be given special missions. Plus, you're in for a chef-curated three-course meal.
  • The experience lasts between two and two and a half hours. It's recommended for ages 8 and up.

Dig in: Chef Craig Barbour of Roots Catering will curate the meal. The evening starts with hors d'oeuvres during a cocktail reception before taking your seat.

  • Menu options will focus on seasonal items, including a seared airline chicken breast with sweet corn risotto and Dijon velouté, plus a blackberry tart with dark chocolate, fresh berries and lavender.
  • There will be dinner options for all dietary needs. Specialty cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase.

If you go: "Clue: Murder on the Menu" will run Oct. 9 through Nov. 22 at Blume Studios. Tickets go on sale July 24. Preview performances will run Oct. 9-15 with tickets starting at $115.65.

  • Ticket tiers will include a general option and a VIP option. The latter includes preferred seating, a complimentary drink with dinner and a one-on-one meeting with suspects.

The big picture: Blume Studios has been Blumenthal Arts' answer to offering more experiences, from virtual reality to bringing classic board games to life and even a twist on magic and comedy.
