Dance like it's 1999-and still make it home before midnight.

The Earlybirds Club dance party will be held at Toad's Place in New Haven on Aug. 21, according to a news release. The dance party, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m., is meant to " let loose, connect with community and still make it home in time for a full night's sleep."

The party is for those 21 years old and older and is meant to be inclusive, designed for women, trans and non-binary indiviuals. Organizers say they do not police identity at the door but ask everyone who buys a ticket to respect the purpose of the women-centered space. The music will include pop, hip-hop, new wave and R&B from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

The Earlybirds Club was featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show in December 2025, when co-founder Laura Baginski discussed its early-evening dance parties and charitable mission. Kelly Clarkson praised the concept, particularly its focus on giving women a safe place to dance and still make it home at a reasonable hour.

Tickets are on sale for $42 and 10% of ticket proceeds will go to the Susie Lee Legacy Fund, which makes donations to nonprofit organizations that help women, gender-expansive people (people whose gender identities fall outside of societal norms) and communities in need.
