Company news: Trish Usherwood named executive director at Wanderer’s Rest

Patricia “Trish” Usherwood has been named executive director of Wanderer’s Rest Humane Association of Madison County, where she will oversee operations serving Madison County, Central New York and parts of the Mohawk Valley.

Usherwood brings experience in startup and nonprofit leadership to the position, with a background in building teams, strengthening community partnerships and leading mission-driven organizations.

Since taking the role, Usherwood has concentrated on expanding regional partnerships and advancing the organization’s work providing care for animals in the surrounding communities.

The organization recently secured a $500,000 grant through the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets’ Companion Animal Capital Fund. The funding will pay for facility improvements aimed at enhancing care, health and well-being of animals served by the organization.
