With training camp near for the Indianapolis Colts, there are going to be players within each position group who will be under pressure to perform well.
For some, a strong showing throughout training camp and the preseason could result in more playing time or a roster spot earned. But on the flip side, inconsistency can lead to a tumble down the depth chart.
As part of our training camp preview, we'll be taking a look at which player from each position group needs to perform well over the next month before roster cutdowns take place.
Colts' quarterback under most pressure in training camp: Anthony Richardson
There is a lot riding on Richardson's training camp performance when it comes to his immediate future.
If he is able to outperform Riley Leonard, he'll earn the backup quarterback role and be one play away from entering a game. A strong showing could also help faciliate a trade.
However, on the flip side, if Richardson continues to battle inconsistency, he will be QB3 on the depth chart, and that could potentially further hurt his trade market, which already isn't very robust.
In this scenario, that would be a rather quick fall for Richardson, who, in the matter of a few years, went from being the fourth overall pick to the third quarterback on the depth chart that the Colts are struggling to find a trade partner for.
