Joggers, walkers and bikers may need to make detours this week while crews close parts of the Cushman Trail in Gig Harbor for maintenance.
Pedestrians won’t be allowed on limited sections of the trail while crews mow and perform vegetation management, according to a city of Gig Harbor traffic alert. Those sections are:
- Wednesday, July 22, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Hollycroft Street south to city limits
- Thursday, July 23, from 7 a.m. to noon - Soundview Drive to Kimball Drive
- Thursday, July 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. - Grandview Street to Rosedale Street Northwest
- Friday, July 24, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Rosedale Street Northwest to 96th Street
- Monday, July 27, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Burnham Drive to Borgen Boulevard
The Cushman Trail is a roughly 6.2-mile trail available to pedestrians and bikers. The trail has three trailheads in the city of Gig Harbor, on Borgen Boulevard, Grandview Street and Hollycroft Street. A fourth trailhead managed by PenMet Parks is located south of city limits by 14th Avenue Northwest. A full map is available on the city of Gig Harbor website.
