Christian Ponder leads a Vikings lineup fans wish they could forget forever

Over the last 20 years, Minnesota Vikings fans have had the amazing privilege to watch multiple All-Pros and Hall of Famers suit up in their favorite team's uniform each season. However, as is the case with every franchise around the NFL, there have also been plenty of underwhelming players take the field for the Vikings during the last two decades.

In the most recent episode of "The Viking Age Podcast", TVA writer Chris Schad and I created a starting offense and starting defense featuring the worst Minnesota players from the last 20 years.

Below is the full list of players that Chris and I selected during the episode, as we had to fill slots for a starting offense and a starting defense.

For those wondering why guys like Josh Freeman, Mike Hughes, or Lewis Cine weren't selected, the requirement to be selected was to have at least 10 starts with the Vikings. Freeman, Hughes, and Cine did not start 10 games for Minnesota, so they were not among those who were selected.

Failing to live up to the expectations of being a high draft pick or a lucrative free-agent addition were also significant factors in this selection process, which is why guys like Matt Kalil, Garrett Bradbury, Shamar Stephen, and Madieu Williams were picked when, statistically, they might not have been the absolute worst at their position since 2006.

All the credit for the idea of this exercise goes to the guys over at TheJetPress.com, Justin Fried and Mike Luciano, who host "The Jet Press Podcast" each week.

They created the All-Worst Jets team recently, and apparently, that made me want to relive the pain that was caused by multiple former Vikings like Christian Ponder, T.J. Clemmings, and Chris Cook.
