Spicy Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips are back—sort of.
According to a new update from the fast food giant, the spicy strips are being brought back to two locations in Georgia from July 20 through September 12. The menu item was previously available in a variety of test markets, but were officially removed from the eatery's offerings in 2023.
While it's not entirely clear why the spicy strips were no longer offered, there have been reports that the item caused some issues in the kitchen, mainly because there needed to be a separate fryer and allocated freezer space. Other issues could have stemmed from keeping the spicy items separate from the regular strips as to not cross contaminate.
Over the past several years, Chick-fil-A has offered its spicy chicken sandwich, which is a favorite amongst diners.
It's unclear how far Chick-fil-A plans to push their testing market of the item—or if the company would re-test its spicy nuggets—but fans are already getting excited for the possibility that the spicy offerings might be making some sort of official return.
"I miss them so much," one social media user commented on an Instagram post by @Snackolator, an account that follows all kinds of new snacks and foods.
"Forget testing!!! Bring then everywhere," another fan of the spicy Chick-n-Strips wrote.
Chick-fil-A first started testing Spicy Chick-n-Strips in Philadelphia and in Texas in 2017 and then offered them in other locations, according to Mashed.
"Our Spicy Chick-n-Strips™ are a bold new twist on our classic Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips®. Made from the most tender part of the chicken breast, our Spicy Chick-n-Strips are seasoned with a spicy blend of peppers, freshly breaded and cooked to perfection in 100% refined peanut oil. Available with your choice of dipping sauce," reads a description of the item on Chick-fil-A's official website.
