Chewy's modern cat bookshelf is a dream for book lovers and doubles as stylish decor

Chewy's Wall-Mounted Cat Bridge Is 42% Off and Gives Indoor Cats More Space to Climb

This bookcase is stylish, functional, and gives cats their own place to climb instead of taking over yours.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you have cats, they already think your bookcase belongs to them. Mine certainly do. My Maine Coon, in particular, treats every bookshelf in our house like it's his personal jungle gym. I'll spend an hour arranging books and little decorative pieces, only to find him wedged between two novels ten minutes later looking incredibly pleased with himself.

So when I spotted the Cfowner 2 in 1 Wooden Modern Bookshelf Cat House with Storageat Chewy, I had one thought: someone finally accepted reality. Cats are going to climb into our bookcases anyway, so we might as well give them one that was actually designed with them in mind.

The tall bookshelf combines everyday storage with built in cat houses, climbing holes, and elevated perches, so your cat can explore every level without knocking your favorite hardcover onto the floor. There are open shelves for books, plants and decor, along with enclosed cubbies that give cats a cozy place to nap when they're ready for a break from supervising the household.

The wood grain finish gives it the look of a modern piece of furniture rather than traditional pet gear, so it blends naturally into a living room, bedroom, or home office. It's made from premium MDF with a scratch resistant, waterproof finish that's easy to wipe clean after muddy paws, flying fur or the occasional hairball.

The unit can support up to 300 pounds in total, with shelves designed to hold books, decorative items and even large cats. Protective floor pads help keep it stable while also preventing scratches on hardwood or tile.

I'll admit, it's not inexpensive.

But then again... neither are nice bookcases.

If you're already shopping for furniture, spending a little more for something that doubles as an elaborate cat playground starts to make a lot of sense. Plus, it may save your existing bookshelf from becoming your cat's next climbing expedition.
