In a recent article breaking down each five-star prospect from the 2024 recruiting class, CBS Sports’ Cooper Petagna broke down both Clemson football’s Sammy Brown and TJ Moore along with all the other 5-star recruits from their class.
Petenga put Brown 14th out of 32 recruits, and Moore 21st. Ironic given that both were ranked in that same spot when recruited. This is fitting, as Petegna says both are “meeting expectations,” calling Sammy “one of the best Linebackers in the country” and Moore “capable of creating explosive plays as a run-after-catch threat with the ball in his hands”
Brown has been an absolute force since joining the Tigers. He led the Tigers with 107 tackles in 2025, adding 13.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, seven pass breakups, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery last season as arguably Clemson’s best defensive player.
Moore enters 2026 with 97 career receptions for 1,488 yards and nine touchdowns over his first two seasons. If Clemson didn’t have such a stacked wide receiver room and so many issues with offensive play calling and quarterback play, his numbers could look a lot different.
Both are entering what could be their final season as a Tiger, coming off good-to-great seasons with little team success. If the two could do more than “meet expectations, it’d go a long way towards a more successful Clemson season next year.
