CBS Mornings saw a dip in ratings in July that led to the lowest-rated week in the history of the program, according to new data.
For the week starting with July 13, Nielsen reported that CBS Mornings had an average viewership of 1.59 million. It was the first time the program’s average fell below 1.6 million since ratings have been tracked.
Additionally, the show’s average viewership has fallen significantly from the same period last year. From July 14 to July 18 of 2025, CBS Mornings had an average of 1.83 million. This year’s figure marked a 13% decline from last year.
The declining viewership followed a trend from the previous month, which was described as CBS’s “worst-rated June ever” following the firing of 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley.
Despite the dip, CBS Mornings maintained its lead over Fox & Friends in the weekday morning slot. The Fox News program had an average viewership of 1.46 million last week — trailing CBS Mornings by 9%. Fox has closed the gap signifigantly however as CBS led Fox News between 7 and 9 a.m. during the same period last year by some 30%.
While CBS Mornings saw a 13% drop from last year, Fox & Friends boasted a 4% increase over the same period.
In the prime time weekday average, Fox News led the pack with 2.9 million viewers on average. Behind Fox were NBC (2.5 million), ABC (2.4 million), and CBS (2.1 million). Topping all cable news programs that week was The Five, which drew an average audience of 3.4 million. Fox’s Special Report with Bret Baier, which follows The Five, had an average viewership of 2.6.
