He wanted to help out!

An adorable cat wanted to do everything he could to help his parents out when the rain started to come into the house, and the results are priceless.

In a video posted to TikTok by Accuweather, a Tabby cat in Bali was spotted near a window, trying to keep water from coming into the house during a rainstorm. In the video, the cat was spotted standing at the windowsill, drinking rainwater that had flooded in from outside, trying to prevent it from overflowing into the house.

The sweet kitty drank furiously as water pooled in front of the window and made an effort to keep it out. People online loved his determination to help out — and to stay hydrated — with users commenting on "how he looks extremely concerned 😭."

"Anything as long as it doesn't come from their bowl," one person joked when they saw the cat hydrating himself. Another user joked, "You're gonna need more cats, this is a five-cat job minimum 🤔."

Another user noted that the adorable moment is actually "the universe saying you need more cats."

Others praised the sweet baby for being "a good helper" and for trying his best to clean up.

"He has clean water just behind," one person said. "But no, he's going to drink the rainwater [instead] 🤣."

How to get a cat to drink more water

Cats are notorious for staying dehydrated and don't drink enough water in general. According to VCA Animal Hospitals, "cats can develop a number of medical conditions related to poor water intake [like] bladder crystals or stones, kidney disease, or urinary tract infections." So it's important for pet parents to encourage their cats to drink more water every day.

Some suggestions VCA makes include adding more wet food options to their diets or adding water to their kibble, moving water bowls around, trying a new water bowl, or adding flavoring to the water. It's also important to make sure the water is clean and fresh and is a comfortable temperature for the cat to enjoy.

Some cats enjoy running water more than still water, so purchasing a water fountain can encourage them to drink more water. Water fountains also provide fresh, filtered water for your pets, but you will need to ensure they are cleaned and the filters are replaced as needed.
