Decades of cannibalism by junkyard pickers ‘n’ pullers had reduced this 1966 Chevy C10 to little more than an picked-apart pickup body and frame by the time Bruce Simmons and C.J. Haney spotted their future shop truck. They dragged the rusty remains home to OPP Classics & Customs and began banging out dents. Eight months later, it emerged under power, still recognizable as that junkyard dog, only different. Rather than undo hard-earned patina, OPP preserved nature’s colors in Vintage Matte Clear. Internal improvements include an LS1 powerplant, 4L60E trans, and 255/45-20 rubber wrapped around Boyd’s rims. The shop’s real handiwork lurks behind the hood, doors, tailgate and seat; e.g., a gallon keg plumbed from the cab’s floor to the Budweiser tap displacing Chevrolet’s filler-neck cap. The reworked interior is trimmed with Classic Industries upholstery.
