The Arizona Cardinals are relying on third-year offensive lineman Isaiah Adams to give them some consistency along their line. Unfortunately, his short-term future with the team could be facing issues after he was arrested in Canada.
According to the Associated Press via NFL.com, Adams was recently arrested in Canada on four weapons-related charges. The Durham Regional Police Service in Ontario listed the charges as possession of a firearm obtained in a crime, possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm, no license while in possession of a loaded firearm and possessing a prohibited device.
Adams was one of four people arrested in a police investigation involving possession of a firearm and drug trafficking. His attorney Adam Weisberg released a statement this week asserting his innocence and expecting that the Cardinals player will be "full exonerated."
“Isaiah is completely innocent in this matter,” Weisberg said. “He had no knowledge of any firearm, and he will be fully exonerated.”
The Team Responds
Meanwhile, the Cardinals have released a statement announcing that they are aware of the situation with Adams but declining to comment further on the matter.
“We are aware of the situation involving Isaiah Adams,” the team said in a statement. “Out of respect for the process, we will refrain from commenting further at this time.”
Adams was a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and quickly emerged as a starter for the Cardinals. He played in 15 games as a rookie and started five, then was promoted to starter in 2025, starting 11 of 17 games.
It's been a rough couple of days for the Cardinals, who just recently got caught up in a massive scandal involving a member of the front office being suspended indefinitely for violating the league's gambling policy.
Meanwhile, the team is about ready to begin training camp with first-year head coach Mike LaFleur all while their projected starting QB Jacoby Brissett waits the team out for a lucrative extension.
Things are getting unusually difficult for the Cardinals.
