The suspect and a female were taken into custody after their vehicle was found in Ajax, Canada, with over 3kg of suspected fentanyl found in the car.

The police then executed a search warrant at a linked residence, finding Adams’ sister, Allyson, and two illegal firearms in the house.

Allyson is facing the same charges as her brother.

“We are aware of the situation involving Isaiah Adams. Out of respect for the process, we will refrain from commenting further at this time,” the Cardinals said in a statement.

Adams was a third-round pick in 2024, starting 11 games for Arizona last season and five in his rookie season.

The offensive lineman is the projected starter for the Cardinals heading into 2026, but former Texas A&M offensive lineman Chase Bisontis will compete for the starting right guard spot after he was drafted in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Whoever gets the nod will be protecting a new quarterback after former starter Kyler Murray left for the Vikings.

Jacoby Brissett is expected to line up under center Week 1 for Arizona, though Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck could provide some competition in training camp.

Brissett is also in an ongoing contract dispute with the team after he asked for a raise when Murray left and he became the starter.

As things stand, he will make $4.88 million this season with only $1.5 million guaranteed.
