Caleb Wilson was the star of NBA Summer League action in Las Vegas.
The former Tar Heel was ready to return to action following his season-ending injury at North Carolina and wasted no time putting on a show.
In fact, among all the talented players who suited up in this year's event, Wilson was simply among the very best. He earned some notable accolades for his efforts, the first of what seems to be many more to come for the former UNC basketball star.
Caleb Wilson earns First-Team 2026 NBA Summer League honors
Wilson earned a spot on the 2026 NBA Summer League first-team, joining the likes of Cameron Boozer, Brayden Burries, Yaxel Lendeborg and Meleek Thomas.
Over the four games he played in, Wilson averaged 23.5 points and 7.3 rebounds per-game, shooting 50% from the field and nearly 42% from three-point range. He had the opportunity to not only showcase the skillset that made him such an intriguing NBA Draft prospect, but also showed us a bit of what else he can do on the basketball court, especially when it comes to handling the basketball and, of course, shooting the basketball from deep with impressive efficiency for the 6-foot-10 forward.
From breaking the NBA Summer League scoring record for a player in their debut to throwing down some highlight-reel dunks, Wilson did a little bit of everything, giving Chicago fans a ton of hope that their favorite team has found the new of the franchise.

Wilson wasn't like other rookie stars who sat out for a few games in this year's NBA Summer League. In fact, if it were up to Wilson, he would've played in the team's final contest, a decision that he likely argued with the front office about when they decided to shut him down.
While Wilson is an absolute baller and a fierce competitor, the Bulls saw everything they needed to from the No. 4 overall pick. Honestly, it's shocking that they didn't shut him down earlier, given just how good he was right from the jump.
Even though three players were taken ahead of him in the 2026 NBA Draft, Tar Heel fans knew already that those franchises made a huge mistake in passing on Caleb Wilson. Fortunately for the Bulls, they lucked out in all this, getting a guy who should've been more heavily considered to be the No. 1 overall pick with the fourth selection.
To us, that's a major steal!
Wilson used his summer league showcase to give the world a glimpse of what we all could expect from him once his rookie season officially begins in a few months. For now, Wilson isn't taking any time off and isn't satisfied with his performance in Las Vegas, as he's ready to spend a lot of time in the lab to improve his craft, using the experience he gained to help him grow and develop as a player moving forward.
