Caitlin Clark filled up the stat sheet in a big way on Wednesday night.
But maybe a little too much.
Clark led the Fever to a 123-88 win over the Sun with a 27-point, 11-assist double-double, but she also picked up her seventh technical foul of the season.

Late in the third quarter, Clark was fouled by Connecticut’s Olivia Nelson-Ododa. A few seconds later, the Sun’s Saniya Rivers and Clark started jawing, and each was handed a technical foul. An irate Clark was held back by her Indiana teammates, and things didn’t escalate further.
“She said she was locking me up, so I said, ‘Scoreboard,’” Clark told reporters after the game. “And the ref didn’t like that.”
However, Clark, now with seven technicals — after recording one against the Liberty over the weekend — is now one technical foul away from getting a mandated one-game suspension from the league.
“Just continue to try to control your emotions as best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me, me,” Clark said when asked about her technical count. “But also knowing my team needs me, finding a good balance with that. I don’t think I’m going to be playing with that in the back of my head.”
Clark, who had six technicals in her 2024 rookie campaign, said she can’t “predict the future” when asked if it was inevitable that she would get an eighth technical with 17 games left in the regular season.
She now has five straight games with double figures in points, including a 45-point effort against the Storm on Friday before Wednesday night’s effort.
