Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark averaged 25 points on 43.5% shooting, along with 2.3 rebounds and 7.7 assists through three games played between July 13 and 19. As a result, she earned the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor.
It's not really a surprising development, especially since Clark made history during Friday's game against the Seattle Storm. The All-Star guard exploded for 45 points, two rebounds, 10 assists, four steals and two blocks to lead Indiana to a 110-107 win.
Clark became the first WNBA player ever to record a 40-point, 10-assist game, all while becoming the fastest player in league history to reach 200 triples.
On Tuesday, the Fever shared a video in which head coach Stephanie White announced Clark's Player of the Week honor during the team's recent practice.
"We got another Player of the Week," White announced before turning to Clark and clapping. The whole team cheered as well, with Clark giving a thumbs up and acting shyly before smiling and celebrating the achievement.
Clark, however, couldn't help but notice how she looked in the video. In the comment section of the Fever's post, she took notice of how pale she looked.
"I'm pale but I’m not this pale arg," Clark wrote, sparking hilarious reactions from fans.
For what it's worth, Clark's pale complexion has been a running joke among her Fever teammates, particularly Lexie Hull and Sophie Cunningham.
Hull and Cunningham have both poked fun at Clark and told her in the past that she needs to get a tan.
With Clark's message, it's likely that the "tan" jokes will start up once again.
