Brighthouse Financial (BHF), which is being acquired by Aquarian Holdings, ticked lower by 1.2% amid reports about investigations into billionaire Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter's investments and Guggenheim Partners.
Prosecutors asked the companies about claims they failed to dispose of billions of dollars of their private credit holdings backed by other parts of Walter’s business ventures, the companies said in the June 26 filings, Bloomberg reported on Monday. The subpoenas came after inquiries by prosecutors last year into Guggenheim's $362 billion money management segment, according to the Bloomberg report.
Brighthouse Financial (BHF) investors may be concerned about its $4 billion sale to Aquarian, as Aquarian was founded in 2017 by Rudy Sahay, a Guggenheim Partners alum.
Brighthouse and Aquarian didn't immediately respond to Seeking Alpha's email request for comment.
