Memphis Police, Highway State Patrol, and members of the Memphis Safe Task Force, including the National Guard and Homeland Security gathered at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital after threats of a bomb were called in around 6 p.m. local time.
Entrances and exits at the hospital were blocked off and agents and officers were later seen leaving the hospital, local outlet WREG reports.
According to Fox13, authorities determined the situation to be a hoax. Police didn't find any explosives and the scene was cleared shortly after 6:10 p.m. local time. Authorities, including the MPD, also searched the surrounding areas and found no explosive devices.

Though there was speculation that the situation was an active shooter, local authorities did not confirmed any gunfire at the facility in downtown Memphis.
