MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A 20-year-old man is facing several charges after he was accused of stalking a woman and following her home from a Silver Spring shopping center.
Police said Wednesday that Adrean Walls, of Bowie, was taken into custody on July 21.
The investigation began on July 10 in the 12000 block of Cherry Hill Road, when a woman was shopping at Kohl’s located at the Orchard Center. There, Walls had begun following the woman through the store while exposing himself, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).
Police said Walls then reportedly followed the woman through the parking lot while driving his car, nearly hitting two vehicles in the process. He continued to follow the woman home, where he tried to enter her house through a window, according to MCPD.
However, Walls allegedly ran away after the victim’s family member confronted him.
Nearly a week after the incident, Montgomery County detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Walls, charging him with stalking, attempted fourth-degree burglary and indecent exposure.
The 20-year-old was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
As the investigation develops, detectives believe that more victims may have encountered Walls at the Orchard Center and observed them stalking or following them. Anyone who believes that they may have been targeted is asked to call 240-773-6870.
