Bohs have one foot in the third round of qualifying for the UEFA Conference League against the Kosovan giants

Bohemians defeated FC Ballkani in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League second qualifying round tie at Dalymount Park.

The Kosovan visitors drew first blood after Pat Hickey fouled Valentin Sarebe in the box, with Toni Domgjoni giving the three-time Kosovan champions the lead after half an hour.

Both sides had good chances throughout the rest of the first period and the beginning of the second half of this European tie.

However, the breakthrough for the Dublin side came with 15 minutes to go through Douglas James-Taylor’s finish from a Dawson Devoy free-kick.

With time running out, it was James-Taylor’s turn to turn provider when he tee’d up Ross Tierney, who scored the winner for the Dalymount outfit in the last minute of play.

Next week, Alan Reynolds’ charges will travel to the Kosovan capital of Pristina, where they will look to secure their passage to the third round of qualifiers.

The winner of this tie would play either Turkey’s Beşiktaş JK or FC Midtjylland of Denmark.
