Blake Lively is still landing on the guest list for Hollywood’s biggest nights, but her seat at the table looks a little different these days.
According to Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, published Wednesday, July 22, the actress, 38, is no longer enjoying the same top-tier treatment she once did as part of Taylor Swift‘s inner circle. Insiders tell Shuter that Blake continues to receive invitations to major industry events, from awards shows to NFL games and the World Cup Final, but the access attached to those invites has shifted.
“Blake is absolutely still getting invited,” one Hollywood insider tells Naughty But Nice. “But without Taylor, she’s no longer automatically getting the best seats, the most exclusive lounges, or the kind of VIP treatment that came with being part of Taylor’s inner circle.”
Lively’s appearance at the World Cup Final came just weeks after she was noticeably absent from Swift and Travis Kelce‘s wedding. While Blake was in the stadium for the World Cup, insiders say she was seated well away from the section reserved for the event’s headline-making celebrities.
“Taylor’s world operates on another level,” another source tells the outlet. “Being one of her closest friends meant front-row seats, invitation-only parties, and access to the most influential people in music, sports, fashion, and Hollywood. Those opportunities don’t automatically follow you once you’re outside that circle.”
Sources are careful to note that Blake remains a successful actress with an impressive career and no shortage of powerful connections of her own. Still, per the report, the change in her standing hasn’t gone unnoticed in industry circles.
“She’s still a celebrity and she’ll always get invited,” an insider tells Shuter. “But there’s a difference between being a VIP and being Taylor Swift’s VIP. Hollywood notices those little details, and so does everyone watching.”
As the insiders tell it, getting through the door is only half the story in Hollywood. Where you’re seated, and who you’re seated next to, remains the real marker of status.
