Strategy Inc.  CEO Phong Le said on Tuesday that Bitcoin’s (CRYPTO: BTC) dominance in the cryptocurrency space has steadily increased owing to institutional adoption and support from the U.S. administration.

Le Confident Bitcoin’s Dominance Will Increase Further

Le attached a chart from CoinGecko—a leading cryptocurrency data aggregator—showing Bitcoin’s increasing market share over the last four years.

Bitcoin’s dominance has expanded significantly, moving from 40.83% in 2022 to 56.95% as of this writing.

“Bitcoin dominance has increased over the last 4 years with Bitcoin Treasury Companies, ETFs, institutions, and US support,” Le said.

He predicted Bitcoin’s share to grow further, fueled by the expansion of the BTC-centric digital asset economy due to stablecoins, tokenization and big bank adoption

Things Look Different Over the Last Year

While it’s true that Bitcoin’s share increased over the past four years, it fell by 2 percentage points compared with a year ago. The dominance hit near four-year highs of 63% in June 2025.

At the same time, the total stablecoin market capitalization increased by 6 percentage points.

Still, the institutional adoption argument holds merit, with over $50 billion flowing into Bitcoin spot ETFs on Wall Street, according to SoSo Value.

Furthermore, corporate Bitcoin treasury holdings have surged exponentially, currently exceeding $125 billion, according to CoinGekcko.

Strategy’s Fate Tied to Bitcoin

Le leads Strategy, the world’s most prolific buyer of Bitcoin, with a stash worth $55.5 billion as of this writing.

However, concerns about the firm’s financial strength have risen after it normalized Bitcoin sales, undermining the "never sell" thesis that bullish investors had counted on.

Le previously described Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and “big government,” adding that Strategy would continue to be the biggest buyer of the asset.

Price Action: At the time of writing, BTC was exchanging hands at $65,845.17, up 0.36% over the last 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.

Strategy shares rose 0.20% in after-hours trading after closing 4.22% higher at $101.95 during Tuesday’s regular trading session.

Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings indicate that Strategy Stock has underperformed with a weaker price trend across short-, medium-, and long-term timeframes.

Stock market: Will S&P 500 open up or down today?

The S&P 500 rallied on Tuesday as strong corporate earnings and a rebound in semiconductor stocks lifted equities. However, Polymarket traders are betting the benchmark index will open lower on Wednesday as rising oil prices and renewed inflation concerns cloud the outlook. The S&P 500 gained 0.89% to close at 7,509.20. However, the July 22 Polymarket contract implied just a 15% probability that the index will open higher on Wednesday, with...

Billionaire Jeff Bezos called Amazon’s customer service to prove a point but waited in silence for more than 10 minutes — ‘It was really long’

Numbers can tell a story. Amazon (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos believed they could also tell the wrong one. When customer complaints didn’t match what his team’s reports were saying, he decided there was only one way to settle the debate. Speaking on the Lex Fridman Podcast in December 2023, Bezos recalled an early Amazon meeting where executives revie...
