Bill O’Reilly: ICE’s harsh nature behind recent allegations and protests

O'Reilly feels DHS Secretary Mullin and the Trump administration is aware many ICE agents are not doing their job properly.

(NewsNation) — Author Bill O’Reilly believes the undisciplined nature of Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel is the reason behind the continued protests and allegations against the agency.

The agency’s protocols have been a hot-button topic after the ICE-involved fatal shooting of Johan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine and Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston in recent weeks.

In both fatal shootings, the immigrants who shot were not the intended targets of the ICE enforcement operation, DHS officials acknowledged.

CBP says it’s not responsible for runaway border buoys

Tensions have escalated further after an alleged attack by an Army veteran on a federal building in New York City. As a result, border czar Tom Homan announced additional ICE personnel will be deployed to the city.

O’Reilly told “CUOMO” that ICE’s lack of discipline has similar problems to the Secret Service after the unsuccessful assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, two years ago.

“I don’t want to make light of this … you’ve got a situation where 80% of Americans want every migrant out of here,” he said. “So that political reality drove the Trump administration to be very harsh in its containment of people who came in under the Biden open border policy. And when you have that harsh message go out, you’re going to have problems. It’s not a disciplined agency.”

Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin is expected to brief Republican lawmakers in Congress on Tuesday about the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown and ongoing issues with ICE.

O’Reilly feels Mullin is aware — as is the Trump administration — that many ICE agents are not doing their job properly.

“I can’t put a percentage on it, but they’re too harsh,” the author stated.

Homan said last week that ICE arrested a record number of immigrants last month. Homan did not specify how many arrests were made, but the White House confirmed that the agency made 10,000 arrests in five days at the end of the month.
