Battle Creek police investigate hotel stabbing

The Battle Creek Police Department is investigating a stabbing incident at a hotel on Beckley Road that occurred Tuesday, July 21.

BCPD officers responded to a report of a male victim suffering from a stab wound around 6:30 a.m. Once on scene at the FairBridge Inn Express, 4786 Beckley Road, officers located a 24-year-old Battle Creek man with an apparent stab wound to his upper abdomen.The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical care and treatment, BCPD said in a news release.As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made in this incident.The BCPD Detective Bureau continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this stabbing. Investigators are asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact the BCPD at, 269-781-0911, or submit an anonymous tip through Silent Observer at, 269-964-3888.Based on the information currently available, there is no known ongoing threat to the community associated with this stabbing incident, BCPD said.The BCPD was assisted by both the Battle Creek Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance in responding to this stabbing incident.
