Despite returning to WWE, Baron Corbin is back in MLW. Well, he is thanks to the magic of television production. That’s not the only surprise from Fusion. Former WWE hoss Killian Dain made his debut to attack one of Corbin’s opponents.
The initial plan was a 3-on-2 handicap match for the Good Brothers and Mads Krugger with monster hunter Shotzi Blackheart on the outside against the tag team champion Skyscrapers. The storyline was Bishop Dyer (aka Corbin) holding out with outrageous contract demands. Donovan Dijak was forced to find a new partner or else relinquish the titles, and that’s when Josh Bishop stepped up as Dyer’s replacement.
Card subject to change, because the Skyscrapers had a surprise. Dyer was in the house to make this a 3-on-3 affair. Keep in mind that this episode aired after Corbin returned to WWE, so there was shock value for TV viewers.
The action unfolded with the Skyscrapers isolating Karl Anderson. The Machine Gun dug deep for a spinebuster to Dijak. Before he could make the hot tag, another surprise was in store.
Big Damo (aka Dain) rumbled down the alley to attack Krugger. This is a separate storyline involving the Contra Unit. Krugger is a mercenary, and he dumped Contra once achieving his goal to be world champion. Contra didn’t take kindly to that insolence, so their mission is to bury the monster. Damo is the latest hoss on the prowl to take the job.
Even though Damo’s intention wasn’t to help the Skycrapers, they benefit from the attack. Krugger was gone, so they had the numbers advantage. Anderson made the hot tag to Doc Gallows running wild. The Good Brothers lifted Dijak for the Magic Killer, and that’s when the numbers were too much. Dyer tackled Anderson to prevent the finisher. Dijak rolled up Gallows and put his feet on the ropes for leverage. Bishop anchored Dijak’s foot to add extra weight. Gallows could not kick out. Win to the Skyscrapers.
Based on the timeline of events, you may be wondering how it is possible for Corbin to return to MLW. The answer is that this episode of Fusion was taped on April 12, 2026, and it unfolded through the magic of tape delay. It’s still impressive how MLW timed this to work out real time with Corbin’s appearance on Smackdown. The question now becomes how Corbin will wrap up his time in MLW on screen.
