Dallas Wings rookie Azzi Fudd continues to establish herself as one of the WNBA's brightest young stars. Despite Dallas' overtime loss to the New York Liberty, the former UConn standout reached another historic milestone by becoming one of the fastest players ever to make 50 career three-pointers.

The Dallas Wings saw their six-game winning streak come to an end Monday with a dramatic 99-98 overtime loss to the New York Liberty. Breanna Stewart led New York with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists, but one of the night's biggest stories came from the opposite sideline as rookie guard Azzi Fudd added another milestone to her impressive first professional season.

Dallas enters the All-Star break with a 17-9 record, the fourth-best mark in the WNBA. Much of that turnaround has been fueled by consecutive No. 1 overall picks Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, two former UConn stars who have quickly become the foundation of one of the league's most promising young teams.

While Bueckers continues to lead the offense as an All-Star captain with averages of 20.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, Fudd has carved out her own starring role. The rookie is averaging 13.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 steals while shooting an outstanding 38.8% from three-point range.

Fudd joins an exclusive group in WNBA history

Against the Liberty, Fudd played a game-high 43 minutes and finished with 15 points, one rebound, and two assists. Most importantly, she connected on three of her six attempts from beyond the arc, raising her season total to 50 made three-pointers in just 25 career WNBA games.

That achievement officially made Fudd the fifth-fastest player in WNBA history, since 1999, to reach 50 career three-pointers. The milestone further reinforces what scouts believed entering the draft: that her perimeter shooting could immediately translate to the professional level.

The accomplishment also reflects Fudd's remarkable consistency. She has now made at least three three-pointers in four consecutive games, emerging as one of the league's most dangerous perimeter threats despite being only a rookie.

Dallas continues building around its young stars

The Wings' long-term outlook appears exceptionally bright thanks to the combination of Bueckers and Fudd. After selecting first overall in back-to-back drafts, Dallas has assembled one of the WNBA's most exciting young backcourts, combining elite playmaking with outstanding perimeter shooting.

Although the loss to New York prevented Dallas from extending its winning streak, Fudd's continued development remains one of the organization's biggest victories. Every game further demonstrates her ability to impact winning through efficient shooting, strong defense, and growing confidence.

Dallas now turns its attention to Wednesday's road matchup against the Portland Fire at the Moda Center. As the All-Star break approaches, Fudd will look to continue her historic shooting pace and strengthen an already impressive Rookie of the Year résumé while helping the Wings remain among the WNBA's top championship contenders.
