Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne is embarking on a new chapter.
Eight days after her 18th birthday, Vivienne filed a petition in the Los Angeles Superior Court remove her dad's surname from her legal hyphenated Jolie-Pitt last name, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
In her July 17 filing, she requested that her full name be changed from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, citing the reason behind the request as "personal."
Following the name change, a source close to Jolie emphasized her hope to maintain peace among the family.
"Angie hasn’t been fighting and isn’t angry," the source said in a statement to E! News. "She just wants everyone to heal.”
Vivienne's legal move follows that of her 20-year-old sister Shiloh—who legally dropped "Pitt" from her last name after submitting a legal request on her 18th birthday in 2024—as well as siblings Maddox, 24, and Zahara, 21, who filed similar petitions earlier this year.
But for Vivienne, she's been solely using the Jolie surname for quite some time. After all, she was credited as "Vivienne Jolie" in a 2024 Playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, in which she served as an assistant to her producer mom.

"Angelina is thrilled to be working on her first theatrical producing venture alongside her daughter, Vivienne," read the program, "who is a theatre student and supporter of the arts."
And, according to Angelina, her youngest daughter takes after another matriarch in their family.
"Viv reminds me of my mother," Angelina told E! News in 2023, referring her late mom Marcheline Bertrand, "in that she isn't focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives."
Added the Oscar winner, who filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after two years of marriage, "She's very thoughtful and serious about theater and working hard to best understand how to contribute."
In fact, Angelina credited Vivienne for helping her get back in touch with her theater roots.
"I studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute where I realized my first love, as a performer, was the theater. I had not found a way back until now," she told Deadline in 2023 after signing on to produce The Outsiders. "I hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse."
