Amy Poehler has spent the past year convincing some of Hollywood's funniest people to sit down, relax and, well, have a good hang. Now New Yorkers will get to be part of the conversation in person.
The Parks and Recreation and Saturday Night Live star is bringing her hit interview podcast, Good Hang with Amy Poehler, to Town Hall in Midtown for a special live taping on Monday, August 11. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, July 21, at noon ET, and if Poehler's guest list is any indication, you may want to have your browser refreshed and ready.
The announcement came via the podcast's social media channels, where Poehler teased the New York show and hinted at "one secret city" the podcast plans to visit later this year. For now, though, New York gets the first live event.
Launched in March 2025, Good Hang has quickly become one of the most reliably entertaining celebrity interview podcasts in comedy. Instead of formal, career-retrospective conversations, Poehler chats with guests about everything from work to friendships to the wonderfully mundane parts of everyday life. The podcast debuted with Tina Fey and Martin Short and has since welcomed a lineup that includes Paul Rudd, Michelle Obama, Jack Black, Aubrey Plaza, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lawrence, Billie Eilish, Tom Holland, Matt Damon and dozens more.
While the guests for the New York live show haven't been announced yet, that's arguably part of the fun. Podcasts with surprise celebrity guests have become increasingly popular live events, especially when the host has Poehler's Rolodex of comedy legends, actors and longtime friends. The performance will take place at Town Hall, the historic theater on West 43rd Street.
