I stumbled across this oversized bubble dome on Amazon, and it’s quite enchanting. It’s clear, beautifully rounded, and feels like the more romanticized version of your everyday tent.
The dome comes in three sizes: 9 x 5’, 12 x 7’, and this 15 x 9.5’ version, which is designed to fit up to 14 people, per the brand. The plastic poles and connectors together easily to make the frame (like Tinkertoys, actually). The thick plastic cover is held on with Velcro straps, and 10 sandbags are included to help secure the dome to the ground.
You can leave the door and small windows open for airflow, but double-layered zippers keep the dome sealed if that’s what you prefer. Note that for best results, the brand recommends building it on a hard, flat surface, like a deck or patio.
Once the dome’s built, the decorating possibilities are endless.
