As painful as it might be to acknowledge for those of you who missed or skipped Amazon's Prime Day 2026 festival and Walmart's equivalent deals (at least on some products) from last month, the summer's best mobile tech offers are probably not returning anytime soon. Likely, not until Black Friday or Cyber Monday in November.

Of course, not everyone has the patience or willpower to wait that long, and for certain devices and accessories, the lengthy wait is unlikely to save you more than a few bucks, so it's definitely not worth it. The AirPods Max 2, for instance, are currently marked down by a cool $100 from a $549 list price, which is obviously a less substantial discount than the $150 offered by Amazon and Walmart not long ago.

The over-ear Bose QuietComfort Headphones can be an excellent budget-friendly alternative to the AirPods Max 2 at their latest massive discount.

Apple AirPods Max 2 $100 off (18%) Equipped with world-class active noise cancellation, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking support, a powerful Apple H2 chip, and capable of keeping your favorite tunes going for up to 20 hours between charges, the second-gen AirPods Max are extremely hard to turn down for hardcore Apple fans at a cool $100 discount in no less than five different color options. But it's clearly better to save a Benjamin than pay full price for some of the best high-end Bluetooth wireless headphones around, and outside of the aforementioned (extended) Prime Day window, I haven't seen the second-gen AirPods Max sold at this hefty discount.

What's perhaps even cooler about Amazon's latest AirPods Max 2 promotion is that it applies to all the five color options released by Apple just a few months back. I'm talking Midnight, Blue, Purple, Starlight, and my personal favorite Orange hue, although something tells me you need to hurry if you want to be certain you'll still find the paint job of your choice at $100 off that $549 regular price.

Now, are the AirPods Max 2 better (or a better value) than the Sony WH-1000XM6 or the second-gen Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones? I don't think so, but that might be because I'm not exactly a hardcore Apple fan.

If you are part of that clique, meanwhile, you probably can't even conceive pairing your iPhone with anything other than the AirPods Pro 3 or AirPods Max 2, in which case I'm sure you'll appreciate this opportunity to keep your summer spending to a minimum without an obligatory Prime membership while scoring top-notch active noise cancellation, breathtaking overall audio performance, solid all-day comfort, and excellent battery life in the process.
