New Jersey’s top returning position player will represent the Garden State on a national stage.
Delbarton outfielder Finnian O’Loughlin was invited to the DICK’S All-American Classic, presented by Perfect Game, at Citizens Bank Park on August 16.
The rising senior was the only non-graduating position player on NJ.com’s All-State First Team in 2026. He is the lone New Jersey player invited to the All-American Game, which consists of 60 players from across the country.
“That’s a big deal,” Delbarton coach Bruce Shatel said. “Being the only Jersey guy to play in this game really says something.”
O’Loughlin, an outfielder, batted .484 this past spring with 16 extra-base hits, 22 stolen bases, and 47 RBIs.
Batting in the middle of Delbarton’s order, he helped the Green Wave win a Non-Public A state championship over St. Augustine. He batted 5-for-11 in the postseason with three triples and seven RBIs in four games.
O’Loughlin, a Jersey City native, is committed to Alabama. The 6-foot-2 center fielder is considered one of the top players in his class. His performance in 2026 confirmed his status as one of the premier talents in America.
“Whenever Finn is in a high-level environment, he performs time after time,” Shatel said. “It’s hard to dispute him not being one of the most polished outfielders in the United States.”
In three varsity seasons, O’Loughlin has 77 career hits and 82 RBIs, including 44 hits this past season.
